Welcome to SQA Appointee Services. This online service is dedicated to providing:
- information for those who want to find out more about SQA Appointee work.
- information and services for existing Appointees such as Markers, Verifiers and Examiners.
Every year professional services are provided by around 15,000 teachers and lecturers who work as Appointees, undertaking a wide range of tasks (The Range of Appointees).
Without this work, the examination system in Scotland and the issue of candidates’ results would not be possible.
There are many advantages for those who undertake Appointee work:
- You are part of a team which maintains the reliability of SQA qualifications on which so many people depend.
- You gain a better understanding of National Standards in your subject, which in turn helps you when preparing candidates for assessment.
- As well as giving you valuable professional development, your work as an Appointee can form the basis for submissions to GTCS for the Professional Recognition Framework or the Chartered Teacher Initiative (more info)
